Our Family

Our sons, Adam (left) and Peter, both came to visit us in Brazil several times during our 22 months there. Adam enjoyed the surf, finding it much more challenging than anything previously experienced. Peter's passion lay in photography, taking hundreds of shots and hours of video. They are now eagerly awaiting our move to Cape Town!

Introductions

This is Andy and me, taken on my birthday, while we were in Brazil. That particular day there had been a tremendous thunderstorm with much road flooding. We had originally planned a 'churrasco' (Brazilian BBQ) on our apartment balcony, but after battling through the floods on our way home, we took refuge in a restaurant. Our friends were finally able to join us, bringing with them a delicious chocolate birthday cake, complete with sparklers.

Initial Posting

Hello to all our readers!

This blog has been set up to record some of our adventures in various parts of the world. Most recently we have been living in Brazil, in the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, and as I get used to blogging I may be able to post a link to some of our regular e.mail newsletters, whilst there. During that time we kept in touch with more than over 100 friends, from a variety of countries, including UK, Germany, Australia and USA. Since returning to England I have been writing regular e-newsletters back to Brazil!

Now, we are planning to move to South Africa, to the equally beautiful city of Cape Town. Andy, my husband, has been there twice recently and I hope to move there with him in the near future.

In these first few bloggs I will tell you why we are moving to Cape Town and why we lived in Brazil. I hope you can 'join' us on this adventure and that you enjoy my scribblings and ramblings!
